Debra Young, longtime resident of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 9, at Yale New Haven Hospital St. Raphael Campus in New Haven. Born in New Haven on Sept. 23, 1980, the daughter of the late David F. Young and Laura J. Young (née LeMontagne), she was the beloved mother of Jaden McDonnell of Ivoryton, Kayla Tighe of Milford, and the late Kyleigh Jean Young. She is also survived by a sister Heather Hallam of Milford and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She enjoyed dragonflies, hiking, sunflowers, beautiful sunny days, crafting with Kayla, watching Jaden’s baseball games, and taking pictures; her favorite memories as a child were of visiting our family’s camp on the lake in Maine, dancing, listening to Grateful Dead, and living life to the fullest.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 17, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford, followed by a prayer service at noon. Burial will be held at Nut Plains Cemetery, 400 Nut Plains Road, Guilford.
