East Haven

Carol (Durazzo) Piscitelli, 78, of East Haven passed away on Sept. 11 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 24, 1942, in New Haven to the late Carl and Anne (Onofrio) Durazzo. Carol is survived by her loving and devoted sister Gayle Alessandroni of East Haven, with whom she lived. She is also survived by her godchildren and many cousins and friends, whom she adored. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Stephen Alessandroni.

Carol enjoyed trips to the casino, dancing, family card games, and her loving furry companions, Charlie and Mia.

Carol donated to and was a member of many organizations and was very fond of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and local animal charities. She was employed by Temple Radiology and Yale New Haven Hospital for more than 50 years.

Family will receive mask-wearing friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, in St Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Avenue, East Haven, with committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.

Carol was a beautiful soul, both in and out; she will be missed by all.
