Madison

Jean G. Keiser, 102, of Madison, formerly of New Canaan, passed away peacefully at her home July 21. She was the beloved wife of more than 60 years of the late Robert E. Keiser.

Jean always led a very active life as volunteer and active participant in a variety of roles and organizations in the communities in which she resided. She created and ran a successful gift shop called Treasure Hunters. She had a distinctive and beautiful singing voice, which was to be heard solo in church earlier in life and later within the congregation. She was an avid golfer and club champion with two holes in one to her credit. She loved horses, playing bridge, traveling to faraway places, and hosting many gatherings with friends.

Her long life was characterized by kindness, grace, humility and a sharp wit. But more than anything, Jean was the heart and soul of the family she created with her husband Bob. Everything began and ended with her family as she was always there to provide the needed support, the love and caring, the example of character and selflessness. She will be sorely missed.

Jean is survived by her two devoted sons, Robert and David Keiser and their wives Helen and Barbara, all in Madison; loving grandchildren, Jeffrey (Leah) Keiser, Brian (Brenda) Keiser, Stephanie (Jonah) Kraus, Amanda Keiser (Timothy McNutt), and Joseph (Ali) Keiser; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her step grandson Capt. Andrew Pedersen Keel.

A private ceremony of interment among close family will take place at a time to be determined.
