Madison

Kenneth R. Nye, 79, of Madison passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on July 21. He was born on Jan. 20, 1942, in Clifton Springs, New York, to the late Chester and Frances Nye.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marcia Loudon Nye; his sons, Peter (Amy) of Georgia and Timothy (Cheryl) of Virginia; and daughters, Sarah Hartman (Timothy) of New Hampshire and Ashley Abraham (Matthew) of Georgia. Kenneth was the loving “Poppy” to 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was also the proud ABC father to Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Joshua Kissoon of Florida. Last, he is survived by his sister Deborah Plane (Steve) and two nephews.

Ken was a graduate of Hobart College and spent a successful career in the Banking industry. He was an active volunteer coach as well as serving on the boards of several charitable organizations. He loved being surrounded by the love and laughter of his Family and his many Friends. He left a lasting impression of a respected gentleman.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the First Congregational Church of Madison, 26 Meeting House Lane, Madison.
