Inez Gagliardi, 94, of East Haven passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Inez was born March 25, 1927, to the late Michael and Eleanor (Vivenzio) DeCicco in New Haven.

Inez is survived by her children, son Michael Gagliardi, Jr. (Roberta) of Essex and daughter Jean Gagliardi of East Haven, and her grandchildren, Michelle Gagliardi Huffman (Sherman) of Florida, Michael Gagliardi of Essex, and Frank Lyon of East Haven (she was his best friend). In addition, she leaves behind four great-grandchildren and a very loving and supporting nephew, Robert Moniello of East Haven, as well as many other nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Matteo Gagliardi of East Haven. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Michael I. Gagliardi, Sr., and her seven siblings.

Inez enjoyed working for H.B. Ives for 12 years and then retired in 1988. She loved cooking, sewing, and baking for her family. She was also an avid Yankees fan. Inez spent her free time volunteering at St. Clare’s Church and Connecticut Hospice and was a caregiver to many friends and relatives throughout her life. She was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.

Family received friends on July 26 in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated July 27 in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the church of St. Vincent de Paul, East Haven, followed by committal at East Lawn Cemetery.
