Deep River

Tyler Shea Zuppe, lifelong resident of Deep River, passed away at the age of 33 on July 21 at Hartford Hospital after a hard-fought battle with leukemia. He attended Valley Regional High School and graduated from ACES Whitney High School in 2009.

Tyler had a passion for WWE and watched the New York Mets religiously. He probably had the biggest wrestling DVD collection known to man. He had the best memory and never strayed from his schedule (especially his 9 o’clock dessert). Tyler was a self-taught weatherman and astronomer. He enjoyed traveling and playing games with his family. He was a champion at Uno, Cards Against Humanity, and Deal or No Deal. He was known for his infectious smile and witty sense of humor. Tyler lit up any room he walked into and made everyone around him a better person.

Tyler is survived by his loving parents, John C. Zuppe and Tami Zuppe; grandfather, John V. Zuppe; and siblings, Melissa (Eugen) Goidenko, Tony Zuppe, and Carly Zuppe, along with his niece, whom he loved dearly, Madelyn Goidenko; many cousins; aunts; uncles; and friends. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time, specifically those who cared for Tyler at Hartford Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 30, at The Deep River Congregational Church, 1 Church Street in Deep River. Casual dress of sports apparel and Hawaiian shirts are suggested as Tyler never liked to dress up. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Deep River Ambulance Association and/or the Deep River Fire Department in Tyler’s memory.
