Dr. Cynthia Townshend-Lacock of Guilford, 76, died peacefully at home on July 20.

She is survived by her husband Dr. Darrell Lacock; her children, Heidi Brant, Jennifer Brant, and Dr. Joshua Brant; and seven grandchildren.

She was a graduate of University of Colorado (B.A.), Miami University of Oxford Ohio (M.A.), the University of Bridgeport (M.A.), and Yeshiva University, where she received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. For more than four decades, Cynthia worked as a clinical psychologist on the Connecticut shoreline and was a member of the American Psychological Association.

A passionate gardener, Cynthia was an active member of the Herb Society of America. She also loved Greek dancing, painting, playing folk music on the guitar, and spending time with her family at the home she designed in the British Virgin Islands.
