Ralph Joseph Monaco was an amazing husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend. He left this world suddenly on July 10, at the age of 54.

He was born to Louis and Louise Monaco on June 17, 1967, in the Bronx, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dina Monaco; daughters Abby and Anna Monaco; sister Angela Mahncke; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

After graduating from Fordham University, he pursued his love for the law, becoming a very successful and passionate trial lawyer. He was a proud partner in the firm Conway, Londregan, Sheehan & Monaco, P.C., in New London. Ralph Monaco was a man of the people. He served as 87th Connecticut Bar Association president from 2010 to 2011. He also served on the Mercy High School Board in Middletown, and on the board for Catholic Charities in Norwich, as well as a handful of other organizations. Ralph gave a voice to those who didn’t have one.

His greatest accomplishment, however, was not his career, but the relationships he had with his family and friends. He married the love of his life, Dina, and they had two beautiful daughters, Abby and Anna. To know Ralph was truly a blessing. You didn’t need to know him personally to call him a friend because he was a friend to all. He treated every person he met with respect, kindness, and dignity. He especially loved his wife and children beyond measure and his greatest moments were spent with his family. Although his time on earth was cut short, he touched the life of everyone he knew.

Visitation for Ralph J. Monaco will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street, Centerbrook. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11.30 a.m. on Friday, July 16, at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 161 Main Street, Old Saybrook.
