Anne (Walton) Pickett, longtime resident of Madison, passed away peacefully on July 3 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

The wife of the late John F. Pickett, Mrs. Pickett was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, on Feb. 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Stephen T. Hanscom and Anne (Capern) Hanscom. She was the loving mother of Lynne Hopwood of Pleasantville, Tennessee, Karen Sousa of Clinton, and Susan Kyhn (Robert and Susan Kyhn) of Clinton. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Justin Sousa, Alicea Sousa, Brendan Kyhn, and Hunter Kyhn. She is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Betsy) Hanscom of Los Angeles, California; and her dear friend, Mike Wiggins.

Anne is a graduate of Lasell Junior College in Auburndale, Massachusetts. Before retirement, Anne had worked as a personal secretary for Dick Moroso of Moroso Performance Co in Guilford. She also worked at Lyman Products in Middlefield and the Meriden Record Journal in Meriden.

Anne enjoyed staying active, walking, and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the Madison Winter Club and Westbrook Elks. She lived by her motto, “We are going to have a good time.”
