06/30/2021 12:00 AMBertha F. Torto, 97, of East Haven passed away peacefully June 25 with her family at her side. For 69 years, she was the devoted wife of the late Lawrence H. Torto, Sr. Bertha was born in New Haven, daughter of the late Anthony and Berth G. LaBanca.
She is survived by her loving son Lawrence H. (Linda Sekac) Torto, Jr. of East Haven; her cherished grandchildren, Jon Torto, Jennifer (Robert) Wood, Lawrence H. Torto III, Victoria E. Torto, and Campbell J. Torto; and her adoring great-grandchildren, Robert, Avonlea, Ty, and Carter Wood.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Theresa Perez, Audrey Hansen, Jim LaBanca, and Anthony Louis LaBanca.
The hours for visitation were held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A Funeral service followed at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 or to The Company Fund c/o Village at Mariners Point, 100 South Shore Rd., East Haven, CT 06512.
