Guilford

On the afternoon of May 22, Lisa L. Lawrence passed away peacefully at her home after a nine-year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by family and loved ones at the time of her passing. Lisa was born in Norwalk Hospital to Grace and Joseph Lawrence and moved to Guilford at the age of 13. She is the beloved mother of Christopher Maltese, Jamie Sciascia (Michael), and Kaitlin Sabetta (Andrew) and proud grandmother to her five grandchildren. She is also the caring sister of Kevin Lawrence (Elizabeth) and Allison Lawrence-Seaquist (William) and loving aunt to her nephews.

Lisa studied at Albertus Magnus College before moving on to graduate from St Raphael’s School of Nursing. Lisa then became the director of nurses at The Orchard House in Branford for 30 years. During this time there is no measure to the number of lives Lisa touched in caring for patients and supporting their families.

When not brightening up a room with her one-of-a-kind humor, Lisa enjoyed watching movies, gardening, going for walks, caring for her bird, and being around family and friends. Always putting others’ needs over her own, Lisa never stopped comforting, guiding, and caring for those around her until the very end.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on May 26, at St. George Church, Guilford. Burial followed at Westside cemetery in Guilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc, National Breast Cancer Foundation P.O. Box 676910 Dallas, TX 75267-6910 (www.nationalbreastcancer.org). The Hawley Lincoln Memorial, Guilford is in charge of arrangements.
