Joanne (Babor) Bombardier, 70, formerly of Chester, passed away peacefully on April 10 at Capital Regional Hospital, in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born on Sept. 26, 1950, in Middletown.

She is survived by her sister Ann Babor of Essex, son Thomas Wood of Tallahassee, Florida, daughter Linda Brainard and her husband Larry, and grandchildren Sabrina, Casper, and Jonathan of East Haddam. Joanne is also survived by her nephew, Jeff Foggit of Chester. Joanne was predeceased by Walter Kensel of Chester, to whom she was a longtime caregiver and friend.

Joanne will be lovingly remembered for her love of birds and Elvis and for her cries of “Bravo!” at her grandchildren’s school performances. The family would also like to thank all of those who donated to help bring Joanne home.
