Robert J. Wojciechowski, 65, of North Haven passed away peacefully on May 3 at his home with his family by his side, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for more than eight years. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Scirocco Wojciechowski.

Bob was born in New Haven on Sept. 16, 1955, son of Rosemarie Acampora Wojciechowski and the late John Wojciechowski. He was the father of Michele (Tim) Wojciechowski, Robert (Brittney) Wojciechowski Jr., and John (Kim) Wojciechowski; grandfather of Alexis, Kayla, Zachary, Sabrina, Samantha, Matthew, Ava, Robert III, Dominic, Olivia, Peyton, and Parker; great-grandfather to “soon to be arriving” baby Kylie; and brother of Carol (Gayle) Ferraro, John (Cindy) Wojciechowski, Toni DeLucia, and Joseph (Cindy) Wojciechowski. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a hardworking and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family’s needs before his own. He spent 10 years of his career at Marlin Firearms in North Haven and spent the last 37 years at Ametek Specialty Metals in Wallingford. In addition to his career, Bob and his wife owned several businesses throughout the years, including Jeannie’s Cleaning, Deli on five in Wallingford, and The Children’s Garden of Woodbridge, which continues to operate today through the efforts of his loving family.

Bob spent his free time vacationing with his family in Cape Cod and Disney World, fishing, watching the Yankees and Giants, and enjoying an occasional game of golf with his friends. He also volunteered his time as a little league baseball coach while his sons played. Bob enjoyed spending time with his wife, Patricia, of 44 years by spending many weekends in Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun, lots of stays at Disney, and countless weekends of dinners, drinks and making memories with friends, both new and old.

Bob’s family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all the unsung heroes in our medical field that helped give us as much time as possible to enjoy every moment with him. Special thanks to the staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital, Smilow Care Center in North Haven, and especially Dr. Jeremy Kortmansky and Virginia Syombathy, NP.

Many thanks to all his nurse oncologist staff including Vicky and Kelly. We could not have done it without all of you. We would also like to thank all the family and friends who lent their support and prayers throughout Bob’s battle, especially his sister Carol. Bob will be greatly missed by all and our memories of him will be held in our hearts forever.

The visiting hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday morning, May 10, in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven.
