Clinton

Jeanne Lofgren, 67, of Clinton, wife of William Lofgren since 1973, passed away March 31 at home surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Jeanne was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Mineola, New York, then moving to Norwalk in 1965. She met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Bill, while attending Brien McMahon High School, graduating in 1971.

Jeanne was national sales director with Cadbury Corporation before leaving to become a full time mom. She later served in a pediatrician’s office, was a daycare provider, foster mom and a pharmacy technician. Devoted to her children and youth programs, Jeanne served on the Board of Clinton Youth Soccer, handling all player uniforms for years. She coached Clinton Little League Softball teams with a focus on skill development and having fun. She often paired up with her husband to umpire little league baseball games. Her favorite hobbies were planning family vacations and scrapbooking.

Jeanne was quick to smile, quick to laugh. She had an uplifting effect on family, friends, and clients due to her sincerity and cheerful disposition. She was a loving and trusted advisor for family and friends. Her love and loyalty knew no bounds when it came to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Jeanne will be most remembered for a giving heart and intense loyalty.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived and will forever be dearly missed by three sons, Eric Lofgren of Clinton, Scott Lofgren and his wife Magdalena of Grafenwohr, Germany, and Daniel Lofgren and his wife Kelsey of Clinton; three daughters, Katie Jeanne Lofgren of Clinton, Jamie Piper of Groton, and Tracey Banaitis of Blue Hill, Maine; six grandchildren, Chayse Lofgren, Alec Piper, Zoey Banaitis, Emma Lofgren, William Lofgren, and Henry Lofgren; and brother-in-law Kenneth Lofgren and his wife Carolina of Winter Park, Florida. Jeanne was predeceased by her father, John A. Becktold.
