East Haven

Jon Michael Coker, 26, of East Haven passed away on April 9 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 1994, in New Haven to the late John Coker and Stephanie (Ferraro) Levesque.

Jon Michael is survived by his mother Stephanie Levesque of East Haven, stepfather John Levesque, and three siblings, Robert DiRienzo of Middletown, Vincent Coker (USMC) of Japan, and Terese Coker of East Haven, along with two nephews, Gavin Moore and Robert DiRienzo III. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Vincent and Christina Ferraro, paternal grandmother Ruth Prodoti, and numerous aunts/uncles and cousins.

Jon Michael will be remembered as light-hearted and kind, with a personality that would light up a room. He had a smile that could make you laugh without saying a word. He may have missed his calling as a comedian. He loved the outdoors, and would be most comfortable outside camping. He had a love for animals, and was known to save a turtle on occasion. Jon was a natural flirt, and will be missed by many. Jon would do anything for his friends, whom he considered family. Through his struggle, he remained a close friend of Jimmy K.

Family received friends on April 14 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, in St. Ambrose Parish at the church of St. Augustine Catholic Church, 30 Caputo Road, North Branford with committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
