Joann (Exner) Petrosky, 84, of Westfield, Massachusetts, passed away on March 24. She was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Waterbury, to the late Joseph C. and Selma L. (Rosenbeck) Exner.

She spent her formative years in Torrington, and then in 1957, she graduated from Bay Path Junior College. Joann married her high school sweetheart, John, in the fall of that year. After the birth of her four children, Joann dedicated her time to raising her family and beautifully caring for her home. In her leisure, Joanne enjoyed reading, knitting, doing puzzles, and playing cards, most notably Bridge and Pokeno.

She was a member of her local wine club and garden club, forming many lasting friendships along the way. Joann was a wonderful cook and could make the best gravy in town. Joann cherished the many memories made with her late husband, John, as they traveled to many distant locations including Europe, the South Pacific, and all around the United States.

Besides her parents, Joann was predeceased by her beloved husband, John J. Petrosky, Jr., in 2013, and her son-in-law Richard Ertelt, late husband of Kimberly. She will be dearly missed by her children, Kimberly Ertelt of Connecticut, John Petrosky and wife Vicki of Florida, Gregory Petrosky and wife Patti of Massachusetts, and David Petrosky and wife Barbara of Pennsylvania. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Alicia Easton and husband Michael; Caitlin Petrosky; Evan, Luke, and Grant Petrosky; and Olivier and Olga Petrosky; as well as three great-grandchildren, Angelina, Mercedes, and Asher Easton.

Services will be held at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joann’s memory can be made to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp by visiting www.holeinthewallgang.org.
