North Haven

Brian T. Gormley, 64, of North Haven passed away peacefully on March 26, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 36 years to Patricia Teggi Gormley. Brian was born in New Haven on May 5, 1956, the son of the late James and Anna Marie Harvey Gormley.

A 1974 graduate of West Haven High School, he later attended Southern Connecticut State University. Brian had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 41 years. He was an avid runner and participated in numerous charity road races. He completed the New York City marathon three times and the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. Brian was a dog lover, especially of his pug, Rosie. He was a passionate Yankees fan, attending 28 consecutive home openers. Brian’s great love of music was shared with family, friends, and co-workers.

Left to cherish his memory are his three loving daughters, Brianne Ferguson (Fred), Jill Santorelli (Keith) and Bridget Gormley (Eric Provencher). He was grandfather to Mya Ferguson and was looking forward to his second grandchild in July. He was the brother of James Gormley (Nancy), Michael Gormley (Patricia), Patricia Lawler (Lawrence), and John Gormley, and is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

The visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 1, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. (Masks and social distancing strictly required for all services.)
