Madison

Jeremy L. Thompson Watson, 84, of Grove Avenue and longtime Madison resident, died on Dec. 31 at the Guilford House.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her husband of 59 years, Peter A. Watson; by a son, Peter Jr. and his wife Stephanie of New Lebanon and New York, New York; by a sister and brother-in-law, Gale and Thomas Synnott of Brooklyn, New York; and by a brother and sister-in-law, William and Anne Thompson of Madison; and by a number of nieces and nephews as well. She was predeceased by her daughter Sara.

Born May 21, 1936, in Albany, New York to William and Mary Thompson, she grew up Loudonville, New York, where she attended St. Agnes School, then later with her family moved to New York City. She also attended Bennett Junior College in Millbrook, New York and Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Her life’s work as an artist saw her participate in many contests, exhibits, and shows. She also loved the local beach; summer vacations in Maine; farther travels to Europe, Florida, and the islands; painting sessions with friends; family gatherings; classical music; poodles and golden retrievers; and the great meals she always managed to conjure up. As a person she looked for and found the good in each day.

The Shaw Funeral Home in Madison handled final arrangements.
