Branford

Arthur B. Hauser of Branford died on March 21 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Haven.

He was the husband of the late Cathleen O’Brien Hauser. He was the father of Mary Sylvia of Warren, Rhode Island, Sheila (Kevin) O’Reilly of Branford, Eileen (Weston) Lant of Weymouth, Massachusetts, and Amy (Robert) Nelson of Richmond, Virginia. He was the brother of Betty Hotchkiss of East Haven, Eleanor Crowe of Branford, and Donald Hauser of Clinton. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cara (husband Pete), Dan, Kelsey (husband Michael), Matthew, Molly, Keegan, Fiona, Henry, and Charlotte and his great-grandchildren Tyler, Mia, Nathan, and Aiden. He was predeceased by his sisters Christine Corey, Rita Fraser, and Helen Cretella and his brothers Joseph Hauser and Richard Hauser.

Arthur was born in New Haven July 14, 1932, a son of Joseph and Marie Anderson Hauser. He was a member of the first graduating class of Notre Dame High School, the Class of 1950. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a teacher for many years with the Meriden School System. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Eldorado Council #10 and the New Haven Chapter of Disabled American Veterans.

Friends called March 23 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, Branford. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated March 24 at St. Therese Church in Branford. Burial followed in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. Please see his online memorial @ www.wsclancy.com.
