Deep River

Dr. Roy Eichengreen, 64, passed away peacefully on March 4, while on Hospice. Dr. Eichengreen was a recent resident of Sedona, Arizona and a former resident of Deep River.

Dr. Eichengreen was born in Chicago, Illinois, but moved to Middletown to join the Family Practice Residency Program at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. After residency, he practiced family medicine for 10 years in Chester, before spending 20 years at Middlesex Family Physicians in Middletown. Additionally, Dr. Eichengreen served on the Deep River Board of Visiting Nurses, as the town’s health director, and as the school physician for the Tri-Town area. Dr. Eichengreen taught at Yale’s School of Nursing, at Quinnipiac’s Netter School of Medicine, and at the Middlesex Family Practice Residency Program. Dr. Eichengreen also volunteered as a coach for the Tri-Town youth soccer club. In his youth he was an all-conference and semi-pro player.

Dr. Eichengreen is survived by his wife Cindy Warm; daughters Amelia and Hadley Eichengreen; his friends in Chicago, Illinois, Connecticut, and Arizona; and the many patients he enjoyed serving during his 30 years in practice.

A private service is being planned by the family.
