Alice (DeBay) Melillo of Preston formerly longtime resident of Guilford passed away peacefully on March 7 at her home with her family by side.

The wife of Allen P. Norden, Mrs. Melillo was born in New Haven on April 25, 1953, daughter of the late Albert DeBay and Julia (Clore) DeBay. She was the loving mother of Meghan Sposato and Matthew Melillo. She was predeceased by sister Theresa Commea.

Before retirement, Alice had worked as therapeutic recreation director; she immensely enjoyed going to work every day enhancing the life of her residents, as she considered them her extended family. Alice was a wonderful mother, friend, and wife, the glue that kept her family together.

Always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed her, she enjoyed spending time in Florida, visiting with family. The beach was her favorite place, she loved to spend time with her toes in the sand.

Friends are invited to a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Road, Guilford. COVID-19 guidelines must be followed—social distancing and face masks must be worn.
