Deep River

Francis G. “Fran” Malcarne, 87, of Deep River passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving children on March 6. He was born Oct. 10, 1933, in Hartford to the late Louis and Della (Scalia) Malcarne.

Fran was a graduate of Chester High School. He retired as foreman for the Town of Chester Public Works Department. In retirement, he continued to do a variety of masonry jobs and his work can be seen throughout the area. He loved golf, was a fan of all sports, and was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees.

Fran is survived by his wife Joyce; his children, Suzanne Carmichael and her husband Mel, Stephen and his wife Dale and their son Tyler, and Ryan and his wife Tammy and their son Luke; his sister-in-law Dina Cart and niece Vicky; his cousin and close friend Bob Maschi and his family; and many cousins.

Fran had a huge heart and will forever be remembered for his love and dedication to his family.
