Anna M. Abate, age 91 passed away on March 4 at Yale New Haven Hospital’s Saint Raphael Campus. She was born on Aug. 2, 1929, in New Haven, to Harold, Sr. and Concetta (Rubano) Thomas.

Anna enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: spending time with family, soaking up the sunshine on warm summer days, coffee, and snacking on anything sweet.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Rosario Abate, and brother Harold Thomas, Jr., Anna loved her family most and is survived by her 3 sons, Ronald (Linda) Abate, Joseph (Nancy) Abate, and Riccardo (Jan) Abate; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a funeral service at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 13 at Pond Hill Baptist Church, 85 Pond Hill Road, North Haven. Burial will remain private and held at a later time in All Saints Cemetery.
