Branford

Barbara Lane, 75, wife of the late Allen Lane of Branford, died Jan. 30 at Branford Hills Health Care Center.

Born Aug. 5, 1945, in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Priess and Gloria Chieppeo Priess. She is survived by Eric Turner Lane of Stamford and Todd Allen Lane of Branford.

Barbara attended Hill House High School and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with her sixth year in education. She worked as a teacher in Danbury, an aide in the Branford Public Schools, and corporate account services representative at Verizon Wireless in Wallingford.

Throughout her life, she devoted much of her time and energy to supporting and caring for her family and friends. In her spare time, she was an active parishioner of Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford. Her interests included family, gardening, animals, hiking, and the performing and fine arts. Barbara especially enjoyed vacationing in Key West, Disney World, Myrtle Beach, and Virginia Beach.

A memorial service will be held at a later date when restrictions have been lifted. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford is in charge of arrangements.
