Guilford

Allen R. “Al” Albee longtime resident of Guilford, passed away Jan. 27 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Mr. Albee was born in New Haven Jan 12, 1943, son of the late Allen Webster Albee and Gertrude (Earley) Albee.

He is survived by two nieces and three nephews, Kimberly and Kathleen (John), Sean, Frederick Jr., and Edward (Karen); seven grandnieces and nephews; and his longtime companion Nancy Peterson. He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Albee, and a sister, Carroll Elizabeth Albee.

Al proudly served his country in the Army. He was stationed in Turkey and worked as a Morse code intercept operator. He worked for many years as a skilled painter along the shoreline area. He was a former member of the Guilford Sportsman’s Club and the VFW Edward A. Norton Post #7666 in Guilford. He enjoyed wildlife and playing cards with his friends.

Friends are invited to a graveside service with Military Honors at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Road, Guilford.
