Branford

Paul L. Criscuolo of Branford died peacefully on Jan. 24 at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Laura DeFeo Criscuolo for 63 extraordinary years. Paul was born Oct. 11, 1936, in New Haven son of the late Paul A. and Mary (Garguilo) Criscuolo.

He worked as a cement finisher and foreman at Blakeslee Prestress for many years until his retirement. Paul enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and camping at the Rhode Island beaches as well as spending his winters in Florida. He was a very engaging person, well known for his colorful quips, memorable songs, and the humorous nicknames he would give to people.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his sons, Paul (Mary) Criscuolo of North Branford and Gary Criscuolo of Branford; his grandchildren, Gregory (Jaclyn) Criscuolo, Alyssa (Erica) Criscuolo, Sarah, Gary, Jordan, and Tyler Criscuolo; his great-granddaughter, Louella Ruth; and his devoted sister Lee Franco of Wallingford, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his faithful brothers, Joseph and Henry Criscuolo.

His family would like to thank his dedicated caregiver, Millie Collins, who provided him compassionate care during his illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening, Jan. 29, with all social distancing rules in effect, at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, Jan. 30, in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church, 731 Main Street, Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 East Main Street, Branford or to the Branford Food Pantry 30 Harrison Avenue, Branford, CT 06405.
