James Elliott “Mickey” Brown Sr., 82, peacefully entered eternal rest Jan. 12, at Middlesex Hospital. Mickey was born July 30, 1938, in Derby, son of the late James and Matilda Byrd Brown. He graduated from Ansonia High School and attended the University of New Haven.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Corinne Brown of Clinton; five children, Carla Brown of Ansonia, Su-Ellen Brown-Lancaster (Terrone) of Shelton, Tricia Johnson (Justus) of Waterbury, Nathaniel Brown (Kristen) of Leominster, Massachusetts, and Zachary Brown (Jennifer) of Connecticut; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his sister Carole Hunter (Jim) of Oklahoma and his brother R. Craig Brown (Barbara) of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his daughter Bonnie Brown and his son James Elliott Brown, Jr.

Although he had a long career as owner of JC Brown Associates, his greatest passion was making people happy, offering warm hugs and smiles to family, friends, and strangers alike. He especially loved camping with his children and grandchildren as well as serving as lay leader and choir member at his church. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Army.

A graveside funeral service was held Jan. 20 at the Connecticut State Veterans’ Cemetery, Middletown. United States Army military honors were accorded. Donations in his memory can be made to the United Methodist Church, 10 Commerce Street, Clinton, CT 06413.
