Tord R. Johnson, 82, of Branford passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 16.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Judith Hallden Johnson. He was the father of Greg (Marie) Johnson of Branford, Beth Polastri of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Lisa Panczak of Branford. He was the grandfather of Andrew, Ally (Justin), Chelsea (Zack), Chloe, Jacob, Jason, Josh, and Sydney and great-grandfather of Ava Johnson, Liam, and Lydia Davies. He was the brother of Claire Couture of North Haven and the late Boyd Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was born in New Haven Oct. 13, 1938, son of the late Helge and Ella Jacobson Johnson. He worked for SNET for more than 40 years until retiring, and he was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all of their activities.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of his family. Memorial donations may be sent to Tabor Lutheran Church, 45 Tabor Drive, or to Tabor Cemetery, 58 Ark Road, Branford, CT 06405.
