Santi ‘Sam’ Pandolfi

Santi “Sam” Pandolfi, 86, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Jan. 17 at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Wilhelmina Quaini Pandolfi. Sam was born in New Haven Dec. 15, 1934, and was the son of the late Nazzareno and Venusta Cirilli Pandolfi.

He attended Hartford Technical College and had served in the Connecticut National Guard. Sam had worked for 40 years for the former Mite Corporation, which later became New Haven Manufacturing until retiring as a tool & die designer. He was highly active with Cubs Scouts and the Boys Scouts of America. Sam was an avid bowler in his earlier years and was a devoted parishioner of St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Frances Cabrini Church. He was always there to lend a helping hand to his family and friends, no matter what it was.

Above all, Sam was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather; most of all, Sam enjoyed being with his grandchildren, whom he loved unconditionally. He was the father of Paul Pandolfi (Lynn), Michael Pandolfi (Pamela), Adam Pandolfi (Alice), and Carla Chapasko (fiancé Harry Biron) and grandfather of Alyssa, Amy-Lynn, Sarah, Jacob, Angela, and Joseph Santi Pandolfi (Sarah); Julia and Adam Santi Pandolfi; and Benjamin Santi Chapasko and Kiley Chapasko. He was the brother of Rosemary Czuchra and Sarah Thomas.

The visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven at 10 a.m. Friday morning, Jan. 22, to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following in All Saints Cemetery.
