North Haven

Judy G. (Montalto) Ruggiero, 78, of Saxtons River, Vermont, formerly of North Haven, passed through this life Dec. 31, 2020, to be with loved ones that passed before her.

Born Judy G. Montalto on Oct. 15, 1942, in New Haven, Judy married Christy “Chris” Ruggiero and made a family of six quickly, bringing Joseph, Jeffrey, John, and James into the world. Her boys were her life. Her grandkids and great-grandkids were her shining stars.

Judy leaves behind Joseph and Cheryl of Saxtons River, Jeffrey and Lisa of Westminster, Vermont, John of Bellows Falls, Vermont, and James of Saxtons River and grandkids Joseph, Cyrena, Michaela, Criscenzo, Justin, Gabrielle, Danielle, and Adalia and will reunite with her “fifth boy”, Vincenzo. She was blessed with many great-grandchildren she enjoyed spending time with, along with nieces and nephews.

Her family was her world; she dedicated herself and her love to them all. From the start of their lives together, Judy ran “behind the scenes” in the multitude of family businesses she ran with husband Chris (predeceased July 7, 2015) and her boys in their business endeavors until recently. She was a busy lady but would always stop and take a minute to say “Hello.” Known to many as “Mrs. R,” Judy’s table, screen house, and office space always had extended family around for the holidays, or no reason other than to visit. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and volunteered and supported many causes.

Her memorial celebration will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven. Immediately following will be a graveside service at Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Avenue, New Haven. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Judy’s memory to the Vincenzo James Memorial Fund, River Valley Credit Union, 105 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, VT 05101.
