East Haven

John Martin Shibilski, 40, passed away suddenly on Sept. 9 in East Haven. He is survived by his father John Shibilski, Sr.; sister Michele and Barbara Shibilski; daughter Alyssa Shibilski; niece Amanda Shibilski; uncle and aunts David, Carol, and Susan Schump of Vermont; cousins Sandor, Shawn, Jamie, Kelly, Jonathan, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Scott, Sandy, Briana, Denise, Cassandra, Trinity, Mariah, Alex, Daniella, and James; and many many friends. John’s mom, the late Ilonka Shibilski-Schump, passed a few years back.

John, aka “Grandpa’s Little Pony,” was a great man with a heart of gold. His bright red rosy cheeks and genuine smile will always be missed.

May you rest in the arms of the Lord who formed you from the dust of the earth. May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints welcome you now that you have gone forth from this life. May Christ who was crucified for you, bring you freedom and peace. May Christ who died for you admit you into his garden of paradise! Amen.

The family will receive mask-wearing friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private at a later date in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Memorial donations may be made online to his GoFundMe page or to Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home in honor of his family.
