Robert J. Turchen, 81, of Clinton passed away on Aug. 5 at Middlesex Hospital from complications from the Covid virus with his wife at his side. Bob was born on Oct. 9, 1938, in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Joseph and Blanche Turchen.

Bob was employed at Pratt & Whitney in Middletown. He served in the US Army. Bob enjoyed travel, working in his yard, and wood working. He was a volunteer at Apple Rehab in Old Saybrook for many years.

Bob leaves his wife Dianne of 55 years. He leaves his cousin Claire Schultz, and his many beloved nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his brothers Joseph Turchen, Albert Vanderhoff, and John Vanderhoff; his sisters Dolores Allen and Alma Allen; his sisters-in-law Lynne Vanderhoff and Ruth Quick; brother-in-law Tim Langley; nephew Joseph Turchen; and niece Jody Quick.

The family would like to express gratitude to the CCU at Middlesex Hospital for their wonderful care, support, and compassion during Bob’s illness.
