River Falls, Wisconsin

Wynona “Davey” Brockett Keatley, devoted wife and mother of two, passed away peacefully at her home in River Falls, Wisconsin, on July 19 after a battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in 1945 in New Haven to Richard and Edna Brockett and grew up on the family dairy farm in North Haven with siblings Jean, Albert “Ted,” and Walter “Tip.”

She graduated from the UConn School of Nursing in 1967, and later earned her master’s in nursing. She enlisted in the USAF Nurse Corps and retired in 1989 as a lieutenant colonel. In 1974 she married Robert “Bob” Keatley, an Air Force pilot, while they were stationed in Germany. After moving stateside and settling down, they had two daughters, Kristen and Kathryn “Ryn.”

In 1991 they moved onto a farm where they raised their children and operated the farm together, raising organic crops. Davey always stayed active whether it was helping on the farm, playing hand bells, volunteering at Treasures of the Heart, spending time with friends, baking, or tending her gardens. She will always be remembered for her patriotism, “can do” attitude, and love of reading.

Davey will be missed by Bob and daughters Kristin (Aaron) Grandominico, and Kathryn (Chad) Hauck, grandchildren Audrey and Anthony Grandominico, as well as countless friends and family.

She will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will hold a celebration of her life when it is safe to gather. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to her favorite charities, Doctors Without Borders, River Falls American Legion Post #121, or Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
