Joan G. Beardsley, 87, of New Haven, passed away on June 1 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter F. Beardsley. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on Feb. 28, 1933, to the late Fred and Philomena Cagganello.

Joan proudly served her country in the US Airforce. In her younger years, she was very active and athletic playing tennis, golf, and racketball. She and her husband loved to travel and also belonged to a gourmet cooking club and a bridge club. More recently, she really enjoyed her trips to the casino.

She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Nikki (Steven) DeGregorio of East Haven and two granddaughters, Isabella and Gabriella DeGregorio.

Funeral services were private and at the convenience of the family. The East Haven Memorial Longobardi-Brennan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to Outreach Programs, 61 Amity Rd., New Haven, CT 06515.
