Gail Cutler Carlisle, 72, born on April 1, 1948, in Putnam, and who lived in Clinton since 1969, passed away peacefully at Connecticut Hospice on May 26. She is predeceased by her father Donald Cutler; mother Gloria Cutler; brother Douglas Cutler; brother-in-law Doug Carlisle; sister-in-law Diane Carlisle; in-laws Floyd and Claire Carlisle; and grandson Gavin Carlisle.

Gail leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Mark Carlisle; daughter and son-in-law Dwayne and Melinda (Carlisle) Xenelis of Westbrook; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Tracy Carlisle of Clinton; and grandchildren Jackson Xenelis, Abbigail Xenelis, Logan Carlisle, Carolyn Xenelis, Benjamin Xenelis, Brooke Carlisle, and Claire Xenelis. She also leaves behind Donald Cutler, Brian and Linda Cutler, Charlene Cutler, Jay Powers, Lewis, and Mary Carlisle, Rita Carlisle, Dave, and Leslie (Carlisle) Oleynik.

Her passions beyond family were travel and classical music. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend to many. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s events. She was very active in the community being a longtime member of the Clinton First Church of Christ Congregational where she was a loyal choir member. She loved to sing and was president of the Clinton Choral Club and an active member of Shoreline Choral, Cappella Cantorum, Con Brio, and participated in productions with the Opera Theater of Connecticut and Clinton Family Theater. Gail worked at Citizens Bank and most recently the Joel School.

She always had a bright smile and a kind word. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests that donations be sent to The First Church of Christ Congregational, 55 Church Rd., Clinton, CT 06413.
