Florence A. Douglas, 97, of Guilford died May 20 at home, surrounded by her children. She was born in New York City, New York, on June 13, 1922.

She graduated from the Fordham Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 and worked as a registered nurse at the City of New York Department of Hospitals.

She was predeceased by her son Thomas J. Douglas, Jr., and her husband Thomas J. Douglas, Sr. She is survived by her children James Douglas (Jacqui) of Norwich, John Douglas of Branford, and Barbara Douglas Dubois (Todd) of Granby; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook. Memorial Donations may be made to the Maryknoll Sisters at maryknollsisters.org or Friends of Animals at friendsofanimals.org. Hawley Lincoln Memorial in Guilford was in charge of arrangements.
