Lucille Dorothy (Libretti) Palmieri (Dee), 77, formerly of Deep River, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 24. She was born Nov. 15, 1942, in New Haven to the late Nicholas and Mary (Manware) Libretti. She was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Joseph M. Palmieri, Sr., her brother John Libretti, and her grandson William Roberts. Lucille was also predeceased by her partner of 30 years, Dante Nardini, whom she worked for in both a car dealership and real estate.

In the early 1980s, she owned and operated the Chester Breakfast Works, which was destroyed by the flood of 1982. She raised her family in Deep River, and after the death of her husband, she moved to East Haven, then later to Meriden. Lucille had a passion for good books, and loved to shop with anyone who would join her. She grew up on Wooster Street in the 1950s, and as a child was surrounded by family, grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. So family became an intricate part of her life. She was the best mother anyone could ask for. She was always there for her family. She will be remembered as a sweet, kind person, with a gentle, loving soul.

Lucille leaves behind her four children, daughter Deborah Lint and her husband Randy of Meriden; her daughter Linda Horvath and her husband Gary of Meriden; her son Joseph Palmieri, Jr., and his wife Emily Major of Clinton; and her son Douglas Palmieri and his wife Mary of Middlefield. She also leaves behind her brother Joseph Libretti and wife Philomena of East Haven; 10 grandchildren, Amanda and Jacob Lint, Timothy and Cassandra Roberts, the late William Roberts, Fenna and Hollis Palmieri, Nastassja Pace, Emma Palmieri, and Andrew Cavallo; along with 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be provided at a later date by Wallingford Funeral Home, and a graveside ceremony at the St. Lawerence Cemetery in New Haven. Contributions can be made to Hartford Health Care Hospice at Home in the name of Lucille Palmieri.
