Ragnar Hanson passed away on Jan. 11 at Middlesex Hospital.

Born in Windsor, he was the third generation to serve in the US Air Force. Upon his return from duty, he relocated to Westbrook, and became a long-term employee of R.R.Donelley’s of Old Saybrook. When the company relocated, Ragnar retired, and on most summer days he could be found on a Westbrook beach, usually on his favorite rock, settled in, reading a book. He was unmatched in trivia and could stump all of his friends. He was also considered the life of a party as he remained young at heart.

On Feb. 13 a full Military Honor Service was held at his final resting place in Middletown’s Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. May he rest in peace with fair winds and following seas.
