North Branford, East Haven

Ruth “Rhoda” Stark, 89, passed away peacefully on Nov. 24 at the Village of Mariner’s Point in East Haven, where she resided the last three years. She was predeceased by her husband Isidore “Ray” Stark to whom she was married for 66 years.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Jac-Lynn Stark of Lynn, Massachusetts, and Wanda Stark Losnes (husband Donald) of Guilford.

Rhoda and her husband Ray lived in North Branford (and previously Branford) for many years. They also enjoyed their second home in Punta Gorda, Florida. Rhoda was born in the Bronx on Feb. 2, 1930, to Bernard and Tillie Scher. She was predeceased by her sister Gertrude.

Rhoda worked as a clerk for many years at Walgreen’s and its predecessor Medi-Mart. She enjoyed fishing and boating with her husband. She also enjoyed her pet dogs, looking for bargains at tag sales, occasional trips to the casino, and playing bingo.

The family thanks the staff at Mariner’s Point for the wonderful care they provided.
