Guilford

William Denison of Norwich, formerly Guilford, passed away Nov. 14 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was the husband of Micheline Marie Dubreuil Denison. Mr. Denison was born in New Haven on Oct. 8, 1956, son of Jean Ferris Denison and the late George A. Denison.

He was the loving father of Emily, Molly, and Michael Denison, and his stepchildren Jason, Julie, Joshua, and Jonathan. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Oliver and Bailey, as well as four step-grandchildren, Brandon, Laniyah, Majesta, and Joshua. He is survived by brother Dr. Tim Denison, his wife Christina, and his nieces Olivia and Madeline. He was predeceased by his father George A. Denison.

William worked as a lineman for 37 years at AT&T (formerly SNET). He enjoyed sports and in high school he was an active athlete participating in wrestling, football, and baseball. Later in life he enjoyed playing golf with friends, fishing, and watching NASCAR races, as well as coaching his daughters’ softball team. Furthermore, William enjoyed being in the company of his family and friends, spending quality time over a good meal, and in his daily routine he enjoyed spending cherished moments with his beloved dog Jack.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 11:00 a.m. in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford. Burial will follow in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston Street, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, or Smilow Cancer Hospital at YNHH.
