Old Saybrook

Bill Schreier, 52, passed away on Oct. 4. Bill was born on May 29, 1967, in Southington, the son of Bela and Joyce (Lyon) Schreier.

Bill was a graduate of Southington High School and obtained his associate’s degree from North Dakota State University. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was extremely proud of his membership in the Essex Sportsman’s Club.

Bill is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janine (Staplins) Schreier, and their two daughters Hope Schreier and Emme Starla Schreier; as well as his brother Christopher Schreier. Bill also leaves his sisters-in-law, Robin and Patricia Staplins, Mitzie Kalolo and her husband Jeff, and his nieces Elizabeth Staplins, Kristina Kalolo, and Amber Braun and her husband Joe. He was predeceased by his parents and his in-laws, Russell and Dorothy (Root) Staplins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Vicky G. Duffy Pavilion at Saybrook Point, 155 College St., in Old Saybrook.
