Deep River

Charles Grady Walker (Chuck) of Deep River passed away on Aug. 13. Born in Hammond, Louisiana, July 29, 1951, he was a trial attorney, pilot, golfer, and great listener. He retired from the Travelers, where he was managing counsel for the Hartford office, and where he served as director of Trial School.

Chuck received the Staff Counsel Brett Barnard Leadership Award in 2016 for courage, grace under pressure, leadership, and humility. He will be remembered by his colleagues as a champion of what is just and right. Before moving to Connecticut in 2007, he practiced law in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee.

A loving husband, father, and friend, he is survived by his wife Sara Buehler Walker; children William L. Walker, Johanna Walker Call, Evie Lyras, and Taylor Walker; five grandchildren; and his cherished friends. He also leaves a brother, Dr. William Walker and family.
