Elida Welles Phillips, 96, of Old Saybrook, died July 2 with her family present, in Hospice in Palm Bay, Florida. Elida was the daughter of Herbert and Clementine Welles. She was the beloved wife of Raleigh (Chet) Phillips. They were married 56 years before his death in 2001.

She was the cherished mother of 6 children, and dearly loved by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving sister Delores Mosca of Old Saybrook.

There will be a service in the Memorial Garden beside the Old Saybrook Congregational Church on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m., and a celebration of Elida’s life following the service at Clark’s Firemen’s Field Pavilion, in Old Saybrook. Casual attire suggested.
