William Vincent Hamel (Bill), 74, of Chester bicycled off to another realm on June 23.

Also known as The Lettuce Guy, he was a renaissance man in the truest sense. He was a photographer, a woodworker, a musician. He knew boats, and he built his own forge and telescopes.

He was a brother and favorite uncle. He will be missed by the many that cared for him.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date.
