Dewey E. Ghiroli, longtime resident of Guilford, passed away June 28. He was the husband of the late Mary Lou Wettemann and Mary Breandt. Mr. Ghiroli was born in New Haven on Nov. 19, 1928, son of the late Romolo Ghiroli and Evelyn D’Onofrio Ghiroli. He was the loving father of Katherine LeShane (James Viglione), Susan Ghiroli (John Heath), Stephen (Paula) Ghiroli, and the late Dewey Ghiroli, Jr.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kevin and Lauren LeShane, Jason, Kyle, Aiden, and Jessica Ghiroli, and Kenzie and Daniel Heath; and two great-grandchildren, Stella Ghiroli and Pearl Winterer. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Spezzano, and three brothers, George Ghiroli, Fred Ghiroli, and Ray Ghiroli.

Dewey worked as a heating estimator for New Haven Heating and Plumbing Supply for his entire career. He enjoyed his family and many friends. He was a very social, funny, and happy man.

Calling hours will be held on July 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on July 2 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, 295 E. Main St., Branford.
