Old Saybrook

Kathleen Peterson, a lifelong resident of Old Saybrook, passed away peacefully June 13 at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Richard Peterson, Sr., for 47 years. She was born on June 15, 1946, daughter of the late Walter and Ellie Rogers.

Kathleen was the loving mother of Ervin Peterson (Kim) of Cheshire, Richard Peterson, Jr., (Angel) of Norfolk, Virginia, and Robert Peterson (Marsha) of Old Saybrook. She also is survived by her 12 grandchildren. Kathleen also leaves her brother, Wayne Rogers, Sr., as well as many nieces and nephews and good friends.

Kathleen was a retired from the Old Saybrook school system where she was a cook for many years. She enjoyed camping, riding her Harley, spending time with family and friends, as well as enjoying her grandchildren. Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her sister MaryAnn Gusler, and her brother Butch Rogers.

Visitation will be held on June 19 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Centerbrook. A graveside service will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, 59 Sheffield St. in Old Saybrook at 11:00 a.m. on June 20. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen’s name to the Old Saybrook Ambulance Association, 316 Main St., Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
