Jeannette H. Toothaker, 74, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on May 31. The daughter of William and Mae Horak, she was born on Feb. 23, 1945, in Hartford.

Jeannette moved to Punta Gorda in 2006 from Guilford with her husband Robert. She was a long-time art teacher in the Connecticut school system, imparting her love for the visual arts with students of all ages. A talented sculptor, her work was shown across Connecticut, New York City, and at Punta Gorda’s Visual Arts Center.

She is survived by her husband Robert; two sons, Christopher and Gregory; sister Annette; and five grandchildren.
