Arthur Pierson, lifetime resident of Guilford, passed away at St. Raphael Hospital, New Haven, May 4. Mr. Pierson was born in New Haven on March 22, 1946, son of the late Russell H. Pierson, Sr., and Catherine (Rena) Benzi Pierson.

He was the loving father of Stephanie Burgess and her husband Chris Burgess of Westbrook; Sarah Pierson and her husband Steven Rauccio of Westbrook; and Scott Pierson and his wife Christa Radziunis of Ivoryton. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Ryan Pulcini, Jake Pulcini, and Halley Pierson. He was the brother of Russell (Buddy) H. Pierson, Jr., of Guilford and Gail Pierson of Amherst, New Hampshire.

Arthur worked as a carpenter with E.C. Griffith and Landon and Hall and was self-employed until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, the Guilford Lakes, his daily drive to the docks, baking cheesecakes for everyone, The Country Tavern, and his family, especially his mother who was the coolest woman ever.
