Clinton

Henry Hobart Clinton, 92, passed peacefully away on March 13 at his home in Clinton. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sarah (née Schulz); and his children Marianne (Bernard) Szreders, Donna (Richard) Langley, Linda (David) Platt, Jamie (Irene) Clinton, Lura (Evan) McDougall, and John Clinton. He also leaves six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as beloved step-children, step-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Born in East Hartford, Henry served in the Navy as a radio and radar technician from 1944 to 1946 before graduating from Yale University in 1949 with a degree in electrical engineering. He founded the Clinton Instrument Company in 1952 and was a pioneer in the insulated wire and cable industry, revolutionizing quality control procedures. His inventions are used in manufacturing plants around the world.
