Clinton

Doris B. Funk, 90, passed away on Feb. 1 surrounded by her caring family. Born to the late George A. Burnham and Mamie Weibrecht on April 15, 1928, she was predeceased by her sister Helen (Burnham) Welge.

Doris was a lifelong resident of Clinton. She was a huge UConn Lady Huskies’ fan who would not hesitate to remind you that “the game was on” if you called at the wrong time! She was a dedicated mother and homemaker and devoted wife. She took great pride in her home and made it the focal point of many holiday meals. She was also a gifted seamstress and an avid reader.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Richard H. Funk, as well as her children Janice F. Gdovin and her husband George of Guilford; Gary W. Funk of Clinton; Steven M. Funk and his wife Paula of Middle Haddam; Christopher B. Funk and his wife Kristine of Clinton; and Richard Todd Funk of Virginia. Her memory will be cherished by her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
